New Chainsaw Man movie will hit US theaters earlier than expected

Chainsaw Man is coming to theaters for the first time, and it’s happening sooner than expected. Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc will debut in the United States on Oct. 24, earlier than the previously announced date of Oct. 29. To accompany the announcement, Sony and Crunchyroll have released a new English dub trailer.

Set directly after the events of Chainsaw Man’s first anime season, the film follows Denji as he grows close to Reze, a charming barista with secrets of her own. Caught between his budding feelings for her and his lingering devotion to Makima, Denji must navigate matters of the heart while facing a dangerous new enemy. The footage features some gorgeous animation and cinematography, alongside a spectacular showdown between Denji and his new enemy, the Bomb Devil.

Crunchyroll also released a second trailer, below, to give audiences a bit of a recap on the anime series, introducing folks to Denji, the protagonist and titular Chainsaw Man. Once a debt-ridden Devil Hunter betrayed and killed by the yakuza, Denji was reborn as Chainsaw Man after fusing with his loyal devil-dog, Pochita. Now caught in a ruthless clash between devils and hunters, he meets the mysterious Reze— sparking a deadly battle where love and survival collide.

Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is produced by MAPPA and helmed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, who served as key animator and episode director on the series under Ryū Nakayama. Returning staff includes screenwriter Hiroshi Seko, character designer Kazutaka Sugiyama, and composer Kensuke Ushio.
